Reasonable Contract Terms

We offer one, two and three year term contracts. As a privately held company, we are focused on serving the needs of our clients, not trapping them into an unreasonably long contract. Our view is that customer retention is a reflection of customer service!

Understanding and Conforming to the Waste Regulations

Regulations surrounding medical waste can be confusing and inconsistent from state to state. MWA meets and exceeds Federal and State regulations for biohazard waste transport, collection, and disposal. MWA is licensed and properly insured for the safety of both our team and our clients.

MWA is inspected and regulated by the TN Department of the Environment and Conservation; Division of Solid Waste Management. We successfully pass all our inspections with high marks and no violations. For OSHA considerations, we have collaborated with an OSHA consulting team to perform mock inspections of our facilities and service operating procedures and have performed well with no violations. MWA Leadership

Chris J Thompson

Chris Thompson is the Vice President of Operations and Compliance and a founding member of Medical Waste of America, LLC, a regulated medical waste service company based in Knoxville, TN. Mr. Thompson began his career with USF Holland Freight, a regional carrier specializing in next day service and recognized for the lowest claims ratio in the industry. It was at USF Holland that Chris gained invaluable experience in operations and customer service through the direct management of drivers and staff and the management of routes. He joined ABF Transportation in 2003 where he worked in customer service and sales. Mr. Thompson held direct responsibility for the management and satisfaction of the company’s largest account representing 7 million in annual sales. Chris holds a B.S. degree in Transportation from the University of TN, Knoxville.

Valerie Mire

Valerie Mire is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and a founding member of Medical Waste of America, LLC, a regulated medical waste service company based in Knoxville, TN. Ms. Mire began her career working with nursing homes and other long-term care providers analyzing operational flow to gain efficiencies. She began her sales career with St. Mary’s Hospital Systems where she represented their diagnostic outpatient interests. Valerie then joined a consulting group, Health First Management Services, which specialized in the management of hospital-owned home health facilities. She filed and defended CON bids throughout the southeast for home health and rural health clinics and increased geography and customer reach for each of her hospital clients. As Director of Audit and Acquisitions, Ms. Mire led a team of consultants to audit and acquire agencies for hospital chains around the nation. Valerie joined Pfizer Pharmaceuticals as a Sr. Account Manager for one of the largest territory in the southeast where she routinely exceeded sales goals and customer expectations. Valerie has a B.A. degree in Economics from the University of TN, Knoxville.
